1. We have the right to eschew church in any form, at any time.
2. We have the right to define church any way we choose.
3. We have the right to cultivate our own brand of “spirituality”.
4. We have the right to keep ourselves the focus in every aspect of worship.
5. We have the right to ignore God’s comandments.
6. We have the right to ignore God.
7. We have the right to expect that everyone, whether inside or outside the church, cater to our every desire.
8. We have the right to throw out anything that even remotely smacks of Catholicism.
9. We have the right to live forever.
10. We have the right to become our own gods.
Do you have any ‘rights’ for the Old Adam or Old Eve that I forgot to add?

You left out: We have the right to create rights out of our perceived and felt needs.
Spot on Steve!
Would that people knew you were being sarcastic. But it is so true, painfully true. And we can all see ourselves in there if we are honest with ourselves. Admitting it is the first step to recovery I suppose. A step we can’t take with out the Holy Spirit convicting us.
Pastor Mark,
” We have the right to create rights out of our perceived and felt needs.”
That one should probably be at the top of the list!
Thanks Pastor, see you on Sunday-
Steve
Bror,
Like you said, Bror, the first step is recognizing the problem. The Holy Spirit won’t grant us those self percieved rights and needs, but He will crush us with His law and then open our ears, hearts and minds to the gospel, by the grace and mercy of our Lord Jesus.
Thanks Bror.
Steve
