  1. As much as my wife and I appreciate Pastor Marks teaching we are caught on one point he made in the class. He really did seem to set aside “They will know we are Christians by our love” on the basis that it was just from some old song. But in fact it is from the mouth of Jesus in the gospel of John, where Jesus says that others will know we are His by our love for one another. That’s the basis of the old song and the for the teaching along those lines. Maybe some clarification of how these words
of Jesus fit with the gospel would be more helpful? Some of us need all the daylight we can get on this one.

  2. Hi David,

It would seem to me that those are words of law, that expose us. So often, we just aren’t all that loving.

We are mixed bags, I guess.

I would think that the better way to inform folks that we are His, is by letting them know what He has done for us, and what He has means to us in our lives.

    My 2 cents.

Maybe someone else has another idea.

    Thank you, friend.
