Examine yourself.      The Publican and the Sinner by Lawrence OP

Are you doing enough?

And…is it for the right motives?

Are you sure?

  1. Your site is new to me. I happened upon it and listened to the message “Are you doing enough” and it was sweet to hear. I am in my mid 60’s and after many years of wandering around in the land of trying so hard and never having peace…the Lord began to open my eyes to grace and it’s Gospel, something absolutely unknown to me. This happened over the course of many years but it is like a meadow after valley of condemnation that I could not leave. To truly “get” the Gospel of grace is to truly be on your face knowing you are a beggar. And for me that posture has never changed. A beggar and yet a daughter. It really IS about Him and His great work. I am always on the receiving end.
I also so appreciate the name of your site. I will enjoy coming back.

  2. Hello mary s.,

Thanks for stopping by and sharing your thoughts and a bit of your journey in the faith.

I think you have a lot in common with many of us.

Please feel free to come by this way anytime.

    God bless you, mary s.

  3. Hey steve. I haven’ heard from you in a while. What is up?

  4. Mary s

Thank you for a beautiful testimony to God’s grace. “When the Son makes you free, you are free indeed!”

    • Isn’t that the most awesome truth?? I have someone very near and dear to me who thinks I have bought into (what I guess is) antinomianism and we look at things so differently it is impossible to share. It always goes back to if and but and the Good News becomes bad. I hope I can access more of your audio messages, Pastor Mark. I am a curious cat. smile. Have a blessed Wednesday!

    • Hmmm…I wrote my response just now at 9:36 am.

  5. Thanks, Steve. I downloaded the first of Pastor Mark’s messages on Lutheran piety. About 10 minutes into it I was having that “feeling” (for lack of a better word, smile) that I was being infused with Gospel and it was so very invigorating, joyful…a host of adjectives. I am going to start it over now and finish. If I am remembering correctly he was likening Baptism to God choosing us. It was (again, for lack of a better word) yummy. When you really “hear” Gospel it warms a person right down to their socks. Forgive me…I am a grandmother of almost 13..maybe that explains some of my word choices?? 😎
