The gospel.
_
It’s not about our security, or our wants and desires, or our material blessings, or the good and bad in our lives.

We’ve got Mary. We’ve got Judas. We’ve got poor people. We’ve got very expensive perfume. And we’ve got Jesus.
What does all of that have to do with worship?

Is it about being able to stop from committing particular sins?
_
Is it about cleaning up your act so that God will make everything in your life work?
_
Is is “dipsticking”? Checking your brother or sister to see if they are properly living out their Christian lives?

If you don’t hear the Bible as a matter of life and death then it will just end up being “religious noise”…and will morph into “principles for daily living”…which won’t do you a bit of good when it’s your turn before the Living God.
